The prize for the weekly competition will be the rank: Writer. You'll have a nice new title, and the respect of others.
Prizes of random competitions will vary greatly depending on the complexity of the competition. It could vary from a rank on the forums to in-game items, it will be depend a lot on the competition, as I said.
If you have any suggestions for prizes, please post them in the suggestions sections under announcements, thank you.
